The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), has said the company inherited a metering gap of about 700,000 customers, Daily Post reports.
The Company’s head of communication, Mr Emeka Eze stated during a town hall meeting with customers of the company in Awka, that the firm needed N80 billion to procure meters for its customers in the South-East zone. The company said it had already spent N10 billion in metering its customers to ensure accuracy and exact billing.
Earlier, Mr Samuel Onuoha, the company’s network manager explained to customers that metres ordered by the company had arrived the country and a fresh phase of distribution would start soon. He also assured that a newly installed transformer at the company’s transmission station would soon be powered, and that it would boost the availability of power in the zone.topics from
