Boosting Your Memory

Feeling forgetful? There are steps you can take to help boost your memory.

The American Psychological Association suggests:

    Take mental snapshots. For example, visualize your car keys in a wooden bowl near your front door. This will help you remember where you left them.
    Train your brain. If you meet someone named Mr. Brown, for example, picture him covered in that color.
    Vanishing cues. If you can't remember a name, write down all the letters that you can remember. Eventually, you may be able to fill in the blanks.
    Use technology. Your smartphone probably has a note-taking app that can send you an alert at a certain important time.
