Former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has advised the federal government to hold the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting annually.
This is coming after the recent cancellation of the weekly meeting which was announced by the Minister of Information Lai Mohammed.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the former presidential aide said the Sallah break is not a good enough reason to cancel the meeting.
Omokri wrote, ”PMB cancels tomorrow’s FEC meeting AGAIN!!! There is no need for this constant disappointment.
PMB should just make FEC an annual meeting!
100k homes flooded in Benue. North Korea threatens ‘impudent’ Nigerians. ASUU/Doctor strike. Yet you cancel FEC meeting for extended Sallah?
If Nigerians want 'extended' holiday, we have @Wakanowdotcom. We elected PMB to cancel hunger, not to cancel FEC due to 'extended' holiday!
The weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) will not hold tomorrow, Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed said on Tuesday.
The minister said the meeting will not hold because the Eid-el-KABIR holiday deprived members of the council adequate time to prepare the documents for the meeting.
Mohammed, in a statement, said the two-day public holidays declared for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations left little or no time to prepare for the weekly meeting.
