Legal Year: Lagos Chief Justice Set To Visit Ikoyi Prison

Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Oluwafunmi Atilade, will on September 27 visit the Ikoyi Prisons as part of activities to mark the 2016 New Legal year.

According to the Director of Admin and Human Resources on behalf of the Legal Year Committee, M.O Shasanya, the programme for the week long event would include a Church Service at the Christ Cathedral Church, Marina on September 26. Thereafter a Muslim prayer at the central Mosque, Nnamdi Azikiwe Road, before a parade and lunch at the High Court Premises, Igbosere Road, Lagos.

The Director of Admin and Human Resources on behalf of the Legal Year Committee noted that on September 27, there would be a Bar/Bench Forum titled “Restorative Justice” at the Foyer, High Court of Lagos. According to the director,

On day 3, September 28, there shall be a Summit titled ‘Mental Health Issues and the Law’ at the Foyer, High Court, Lagos and Novelty Football March at Onikan Stadium at the next day.

Shosanya explained that to ensure that Lagos judges are healthy for the task in the new legal year, Staff of the state’s judiciary would undergo Health check on September 30.
