Ambode Moves Lagos @50 Thanksgiving Service To State House

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state  has ordered that the thanksgiving service  for the state’s 50th anniversary be moved from the chapel to the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.

Ambode's order on Friday is sequel to the sack of the Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel of Christ the Light, Venerable Femi Taiwo,

The service which will hold on Sunday will also mark the second year anniversary of his administration.

Recall that the venerable was recently relieved of his position and also evicted from his official apartment over  an allegation that the governor's wife, Bolanle Ambode was disrespected during  an anointing service early in the month held in the church , leading to her storming of the venue.

A statement by the state Ministry of Information and Strategy said: "A Special Thanksgiving Service, earlier scheduled for Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, will now be held at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja on Sunday, May 28, 2017."

No reason was given for the relocation of the service by the state government.

According to the statement, the religious event will "cap series of activities for Lagos at 50 celebrations, as well as glorify the Almighty God for the second year anniversary of Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration in Lagos State."

It said also that the theme of the event, which is scheduled to commence at 10 am is: "Pressing on to Greater Heights".

The church service schedule to hold at 10am will have Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo as the guest speaker.
