The non-elective national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has kicked off at the Eagles Square, Abuja.
At least 3,000 delegates drawn from the six geo-political zones of the country are expected on Saturday at the venue for the event.
Others expected at the convention are international observers from the United Nations and the Africa Union among other international bodies.
Party faithful have described the convention, the first since the Supreme Court judgement, as a unity gathering of the PDP family.
The Chairman of the Convention Committee and Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, believes the event will signal the party’s readiness to return to power at the centre in 2019.topics from
