Two aircraft belonging to Air Peace yesterday had a ground collision incident with another aircraft parked at the apron wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
The incident occurred about 6.15am when one of the aircraft, a Boeing 737 with the registration number 5NBKR was taxiing to relocate to the international wing for a regional flight operation.
The clipping of the wings, has however led to the grounding of the two aircraft, which are now parked at the apron wing of the airport.
The spokesman for Air Peace, Mr. Chris Iwarah, confirmed the incident, saying that although the points of contact of the two aircraft were only slightly impacted, the airline took the cautious decision to declare them unserviceable to enable proper investigation into the incident, make some checks and repairs by its Engineering and Maintenance Department in line with our high safety standards.
According to him, there were no passengers on the two aircraft involved in the incident.topics from
