Buhari’s Govt Abandoned Rivers In Two Years – Wike

The Federal Government has done nothing to improve Rivers state, two years into the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Nyesom Wike has said.

He said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has abandoned the state as it has not recorded any project in the state since May 29, 2015.

”APC has deceived Nigerians. I challenge the APC to show one project that they have executed in Rivers state in the last two years. They have made promises, but they have made not made efforts to fulfill the promises,” he lamented.

The Governor made this known while inaugurating the construction of the Elele-Alimini internal roads in Emohua Local Government Area on Tuesday.

The inauguration of the project is part of Wike’s second anniversary as governor of Rivers.

According to the governor, unlike the Federal Government who made promises but abandoned the state, the construction of the Elele-Alimini internal roads was in fulfilment of his promise to the people of the area.

”Today, we are here to fulfill our promises to the people of Elele-Alimini. Because the people of Elele-Alimini did not disappoint me when I came to them for votes, I will not disappoint them,” he said.
