Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has given the go ahead for the disbursement of N1.6 billion intervention fund to 16 states ravaged by flood.
The worst affected states, according to the presidency include: Akwaibom, Kebbi, Enugu, Abia, Oyo, Plateau, Edo, Bayelsa, Kwara, Lagos among others.
The intervention fund is expected to be taken from the ecological funds and released directly to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for immediate disbursement.
The development is coming days after states across the country witnessed massive flooding as a result of a downpour that went on for days.
The flood led to loss of lives and property worth millions of naira in states across the country especially Lagos and Niger state.topics from
