The reference to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a “coordinator” in President Muhammadu Buhari’s leave letter to the Senate is “insulting and dangerous”.
This is according to the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who made his position clear via his Twitter page.
He said: “The attempt by the corpsocrats to prevent the VP from being Acting Pres. by referring to him as a ‘co-ordinator’ is insulting and dangerous.
“It is time for us to decide: do we have a nation of equals or not?If not let us break it! When u tell us that the VP cannot be Acting Pres.
“Even though the Pres. is critically sick and on indefinite medical leave u are playing with fire. There are NO more slaves in Nigeria”.
President Buhari flew out of the country Sunday night, to undergo further medical check-ups in the UK and as mandated by the Constitution, he notified the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of his absence.
The letter was read on the floor of the Senate by Senate President Bukola Saraki in its entirety.and a But before then, he sent a letter to the Senate notifying the upper chamber of his absence.
In his reaction, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa (Abia/Abia-North) faulted the wording of the position of the vice president. He said the vice president is not explicitly named as the Acting President.
He, therefore, called on the House to disregard the letter.topics from
