The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its worry over the silence of the All Progressives Congress (APC)- led administration over the allegation of corruption leveled against the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris by Senator Isah Misau.
Senator Misau, who is representing Bauchi Central constituency in the national assembly alleged that IGP Idris has been collecting about N120billion annually as payment for special security services rendered by the police to corporate organisations and very important personalities.
The opposition party in a statement posted on it's Twitter handle, said "The N120B fraud allegation against the police bodd is too weighty and the police authority must purge itself of this accusation.
The sudden realization that Sen. Misau is a deserter further exposes the complicity of the police force on this matter.
PDP further stated that the APC administration can't said to be fighting corruption and shielding some corrupt officers, adding that the matter can not be swept under the carpet.
This allegation must not be swept under the carpet by APC like the ones against the EFCC Ag. chairman, Magu, and others.
The APC led FG cannot be said to be fighting corruption and at the same time covering up corrupt officers."
