Former Senate President David Mark has referred to the Supreme Court ruling on the Peoples Democratic Party leadership crisis as that of “no victor no vanquished.”
The apex court on Wednesday declared Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic national chairman of the party, ending a long-standing leadership tussle.
Markarfi had battled with Ali Modu Sheriff for the position.
The ruling was decided by a five-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
And Senator Mark, a member of the party, in a reaction to the judgment, said in all, it was the PDP that won; as he regretted that the party could not resolve its internal crisis internally.
The disagreement between both side of the divide was a needed elixir for the unity of the party to face the challenges ahead.
Now we know the authentic leader of our party. It is no longer in doubt that PDP still has the credible and defined road map for the socio-political and economic recovery of our nation.
