In Gee Chun Leads Evian By Two After Two Rounds

First-round co-leader In Gee Chun posted a second-round 5-under 66 Friday to take a two-shot lead over Shanshan Feng and Sung Hyun Park through 36 holes at the Evian Championship. Here's where things stand heading into the weekend at the year's fifth and final major:

Leaderboard: Chun (-13), Feng (-11), Park (-11), So Yeon Ryu (-10), Angela Stanford (-9), Brittany Lincicome (-8), Eun-Hee Ji (-8)

What it means: Chun, the 2015 U.S. Open champ, was one of the few players at the top of the leaderboard who went out in the afternoon wave. Starting her round three behind Feng and Park, who both played the morning, Chun made six birdies and a single bogey to go up two with two rounds to play. With a win Sunday, Chun would join Se Ri Pak as the only players to make their first two LPGA wins major championship victories. Feng is the 2012 LPGA Championship winner who is looking for her second major triumph just a month after leaving Rio with Olympic bronze. Chun's fellow South Korean Park has won seven times this year in Korea and now eyes her first major.

Round of the day: Chun and Lincicome both turned in 66. Unlike Chun's tidy card, Lincicome's proved far more colorful, with four bogeys, five pars and nine birdies.

Best of the Rest: Ryu tied Chun and Lincicome for low round of the day with a 66. Ryu carded five birdies and no bogeys to move into fourth place.

Biggest disappointment: Notables to miss the 3-over cut include Morgan Pressel, Brittany Lang, Mo Martin, Beatriz Ricari and Karrie Webb. Americans Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson, who got off to difficult starts Thursday, both rallied to make the weekend with rounds of 70.

Storyline to watch: World No. 1 Lydia Ko enters the weekend tied for 13th but nine shots off the pace at 4 under par.
